Educator. Administrator. Community Servant.
“I’m running to fulfill my desire to give back to my community through public service. This position matches my qualifications and my heart.”
Marian Blocker has spent her entire career in service to public education. From managing federal grant procurement at Detroit Public Schools to developing professional training programs for charter schools across the region, she has seen firsthand both the challenges and the extraordinary potential of community education.
The Oakland Community College Board of Trustees is more than a governing body — it is the steward of opportunity for thousands of Oakland County residents. Marian believes that with the right leadership, OCC can increase enrollment, improve completion rates, expand online access, and ensure every taxpayer dollar is working as hard as the students it serves.
Her decades of hands-on experience in educational finance, administration, and professional development make her uniquely prepared to serve in this role — not as a newcomer learning on the job, but as a proven leader ready to deliver results from day one.
Every Oakland County resident deserves a path to higher education, regardless of income, transportation, or circumstance.
Taxpayer money is a trust. Every dollar spent on education must be accounted for, optimized, and working in the public interest.
Change happens when leaders show up — in high schools, community centers, and every corner of Oakland County.
